Jeffrey PiercE


Jeffrey Pierce is the founder and lead attorney of Jeff Pierce Criminal Lawyer, where his practice is dedicated to representing individuals facing criminal charges throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast and surrounding communities, including Hattiesburg and Jackson. With a career that spans private practice, government service, judicial work, and legal education, Mr. Pierce brings a depth of perspective and experience that informs every case he handles.

A native of Mobile, Alabama, Mr. Pierce pursued his undergraduate education at Birmingham-Southern College before completing his degree at the University of Alabama, where he distinguished himself academically and through extracurricular leadership. His academic interests later led him to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he pursued graduate-level studies in literature before transitioning to the study of law.

Mr. Pierce earned his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law, graduating in the top quarter of his class. He later obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Alabama School of Law, graduating with honors. His advanced legal education reflects a longstanding commitment to legal scholarship and analytical precision.

Throughout his career, Mr. Pierce has held a wide range of legal roles that contribute to his comprehensive understanding of the justice system. His experience includes work with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, service as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable James M. Moody of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, and practice with several respected law firms in Mississippi. In 2009, he established his own practice, allowing him to focus on client-centered representation and complex legal matters.

From 2015 to 2020, Mr. Pierce served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Mississippi State Personnel Board’s Employee Appeals Board. His work in this role further strengthened his insight into administrative proceedings, evidentiary standards, and decision-making processes. He has also been recognized by the Mississippi Journal for his Leadership in the Law.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Pierce has taught courses related to trial practice, criminal law, business law, domestic law, and paralegal studies at institutions including the University of Southern Mississippi, Tulane University, and Mississippi College School of Law. His experience as an educator reflects a commitment to clarity, mentorship, and the responsible practice of law.

Mr. Pierce has devoted significant time to professional service within the legal community. His involvement includes service on the Mississippi Bar’s Ethics Committee, Professionalism Committee, Board of Bar Commissioners, and the Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions’ Character and Fitness Review Committee. These roles reflect a longstanding dedication to the integrity of the legal profession.

Beyond the practice of law, Mr. Pierce has been deeply involved in child advocacy and community service. He has served on multiple boards focused on the prevention of child abuse and court-appointed advocacy for children, including CASA organizations at both the state and regional levels. His service in this area has been recognized through pro bono and community service honors.

Mr. Pierce is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and Alabama and represents clients across the Mississippi Gulf Coast and surrounding regions.
